The Emily Project began when Brenna, who likes those A Year with… books featuring the works of various poets, decided to read such a book by a female poet in 2019. Much to her dismay, there was no such thing. She immediately lamented this to Pam, who proceeded to search and also found nothing. Pam suggested that we buck the system by choosing a female poet, buying identical copies of her work, and blogging about the experience as we read a poem a day. Thus The Emily Project was born.
